Taylor and Kaden's love story started in Door County, Wisconsin, where they went on their first date at Cherry Lanes Arcade in Sturgeon Bay. They played air hockey and pinball and turned their first date into a double date when another couple walked in. They played darts with the other couple until parting ways, but not before Taylor and Kaden planned their next date, which was the start of their beautiful relationship.
When Kaden proposed to Taylor, Taylor had a sneaking suspicion that something was up. Kaden had the whole day planned, starting with breakfast with Kaden’s brother and wife. They never used to have breakfast together, but something was different this morning. Kaden had shaved the night before, which was a rare occurrence. Taylor was suspicious, and her suspicions only grew when Kaden went to the bathroom five times before 10am.
After breakfast at L Johnson's, they decided to take a stroll around Sister Bay and check out the local shops. The boys wanted to take some photos on the beach, and Taylor knew this could be it. She quickly texted her best friend that if the proposal was going to happen, it would happen soon.
Kaden's sister-in-law kindly offered to take a picture of them, and Taylor eagerly turned to check it out. But when she turned back around, she saw Kaden down on one knee. Of course, she said yes! As they were celebrating, their families came running out from behind the pavilion, where they were hiding. Taylor was so surprised to see everyone there, and they all headed to a local bar for some celebratory drinks.
Taylor loves Caden's childlike excitement towards the smallest things, and Caden appreciates Taylor's patience. They have very similar opinions on many things, which made wedding planning a breeze. They wanted their engagement session to feel easy breezy and laid back, and they chose one of the quieter beaches in Sturgeon Bay to kick things off.
Taylor and Kaden are Door County natives, so it only made sense that they wanted to capture some of the area’s best spots during their engagement session. They kicked things off at one of Sturgeon Bay’s quieter beaches and absolutely slayed in a bright red dress and dapper dress clothes. Seriously, these two could be models!
But the fun didn’t stop there! When we were planning their session, Taylor and Kaden floated the idea of taking some photos at their family’s junkyard. Of course, our true crime selves were all about it because it’s such a unique location, and it ended up being even more amazing than we could have imagined!
During the session, they mentioned they were a little nervous about asking us to take photos at a junkyard because of a famous murder case in Wisconsin, but we just laughed it off and focused on having a good time. And that’s exactly what we did! Taylor and Kaden are super goofy and romantic, and they have the kind of chemistry that just lights up a room. They are so easygoing and playful, it felt like we were just hanging out with friends.
We wrapped up their session just before sunset at one of Door County’s famous lighthouses, which is where they had their first picture taken together. It was the perfect way to end their engagement session!
It was a pleasure to document Taylor and Caden's engagement and wedding journey, and we cannot wait to celebrate with them further. They are such a beautiful couple with a beautiful story, and we are grateful to have been chosen to capture it.
Much love and appreciation,
A fun and playful engagement session at Cave Point, and Whitefish Dunes in Door County.
