Do you have a “tribe”? A group of friends that just get you and are there to support you through the good times and bad? The ones that have got your back, are up for adventure, and love you for who you are–those people are solid gold. Having a tribe like this has been so incredible/crucial/life-changing/insert-other-awesome-adjective-here and I am SO thankful for these friends.
Read MorePeople often ask me how my photography journey started, but I don't think it can be pinpointed to one specific moment. Perhaps it was growing up in my childhood home, looking at the big, beautiful black and white Ansel Adams landscape prints on our walls. Or maybe it was when I was gifted a camera for Christmas and went through a whole roll of film that night. Or maybe it was when I was in college and I had completed the Intro to Photography course, but I wasn't sure if it was for me until the professor who taught the remaining black and white and digital photography courses convinced me that I had found my home.

Our engagement sessions are another opportunity for us to insert our personalities and hobbies into our wedding journey, and we wanted to do it right!
For our first engagement session, we headed to my family’s cabin in Spread Eagle, Wisconsin. Read MoreI have been in the wedding industry for nine years now—WOW! I didn’t really fully understand why it was so special until a few years into it. It is an industry that’s completely centered on love, and was created to serve couples and support them in creating one of the best days of their lives. It very much is a serving industry, and that’s the way that I approach it. I’m not in this business to put myself first or put myself out there. It is my job to serve couples. My goal is to help them fall deeper in love. I provide them with a tangible and visual piece that they can refer back to for the rest of their lives, that reminds them why they got married, what they felt in that moment on their wedding day, and for them to reflect on how much their love has grown since that point.

I’m not sure that there are enough words and emotions to encompass everything I want to convey. You, my sweet little colonial home, were simply magical. When I started looking for a home, I was young and didn’t know what to expect. I fell in love with you as soon as I walked through your stained glass front door and saw your warm hardwood floors, enchanting fireplace, and arched doorways. Your stairs creaked with each step, telling stories of the people who had lived here before. In your 92 years of life, I’m sure you had seen and heard some pretty incredible things.
