Katelyn + Lucas’s Summer Wedding at Green Bay Botanical Gardens
On a beautifully warm and sunny summer day, the excitement in Katelyn and Lucas eyes and smiles was eminent as their anticipation grew to say I do. Starting their day at 6:00am, the ladies gathered at Salon Forte in preparation for Katelyn and Lucas’s Sunday lunch wedding. The bridesmaids wore light purple dresses, which was perfect for the summer day and their setting at the Green Bay Botanical Garden. Katelyn prepped in one of the bridal areas at the Botanical Gardens, and did a first look with her dad before walking down the aisle. Katelyn’s beauty moved him to tears.
Lucas had written a letter to Katelyn that was incredibly touching. She was not expecting it, but his sweet words of love and happiness made her eyes misty. Lucas was very calm as he waited for Katelyn to walk down the aisle with her parents. Katelyn and Lucas were very lucky to have many of their grandparents in attendance on their wedding day.
Amongst sunlit flowers, Katelyn and Lucas were pronounced husband and wife and they shared their first kiss. Their families had so much fun finally seeing these Bay Port High School (my alma mater!) soul mates marry each other. Through all the excitement, their families were also kind and considerate, and were thrilled to finally be able to celebrate Katelyn and Lucas as husband and wife.
After the ceremony, Katelyn and Lucas had a chance to stroll through the gardens. The Shade Garden was their favorite, and they snuggled up by themselves, enjoying the first moments officially as husband and wife. They chatted excitedly about their honeymoon that they would be taking to Vancouver, British Columbia. The two eagerly awaited seeing the sea, mountains, and lifestyle that Vancouver emulates.
Back inside at the Botanical Gardens, their closest family and friends gathered for a buffet style reception equipped with games Katelyn and Lucas enjoy playing. Jenga, corn hole, and a number of board games were set up outside. A slide show of Katelyn and Lucas over the years, both as kids and from the beginning of their relationship and on, played in the background. The maid of honor gave a warm and touching speech. Being Katelyn’s sister, she said that she really looked up to Katelyn and admires her relationship with Lucas. There were lots of happy emotions, many misty eyes, and funny stories shared.
Katelyn and Lucas are so compatible. They are a wonderful pair, and their relationship is going to stand the test of time. We wish them a lifetime of love, happiness, friendship, and adventure. We’re so honored to have been a part of their day. We wish them the best!
Much love and appreciation,
Kate
