Wisconsin Wedding Photography: Sam and Josh

The morning was hazy and warm. Birds sang in the trees surrounding Sam's parents' home, and cicadas chirped out of sight. Rows of empty white chairs were lined up facing a gigantic hydrangea bush bursting with bountiful white blooms. The stage was quietly set for the afternoon outdoor wedding ceremony.

Inside Sam's childhood home, the bride and bridesmaids tittered about the upstairs with lots of laughter, reminiscing, and splashes of sparkling wine. Arthur, the couple's white terrier puppy, waited anxiously to fulfill his important puppy ringbearer duties. Sam took a moment to pray in her parents' room before the ceremony, and Arthur gave her reassuring kisses.

Sam was a vision in her lace gown and baby's breath headpiece. Her long blonde locks cascaded down her back, and her bare feet were kissed by the luscious green grass outside. She was the epitome of a Bohemian bride. When Josh caught sight of her at the end of the aisle, his face simply lit up and he seemed to tear up. A close friend officiated their outdoor wedding, speaking of the couple's undying love for each other and how well they compliment each other.

Once the nuptuals were sealed, the couple hopped on their party bus with the wedding party and cranked up the techno. The gang made a quick stop at Anduzzi's in Howard for a round of drinks and some games of cornhole and pool. Then, onward to the wedding reception at Riverside Ballroom. Hundreds of friends and family members gathered in the ballroom to celebrate Sam and Josh. The outpouring of love the couple gave and received was happily overwhelming.

Sam and Josh, thank you for the honor of not only letting me photograph your engagement session, outdoor wedding, and reception at Riverside Ballroom, but for also welcoming me into your lives as your friend. You have such an effortless, beautiful love, it's incredibly inspiring and endearing. Enjoy your lives together. This quote by Shakespeare makes me think of you each time I hear it: "If music be the food of love, play on."

Much love and appreciation,
Kate
