KLEM Studios’ 2018 Highlights

Friends, 2018 has come to a close, and what a year it was. 21 weddings. 9 engagement sessions. 20 boudoir sessions. 29 other sessions. Not to mention all of the amazing memories with friends and family. I think it’s safe to say that 2018 was the best year of my life thus far. There are so many incredible people that made this year one for the record books, and I just want to say thank you:

Andy, you are my love and my best friend. I am so freaking excited to spend the rest of my life with you, to snuggle our puppies together, and to always adventure together while loving each other deeply and honestly. I love you to the mountains and back.

To our families, for your never ending love, patience, and teachings. Thank you for your support, understanding, and encouragement. We love you.

To my tribe of boss babes Kasey, Jess, Alex, Jenni, Emily, for your endearing friendship, support, and love. You ladies light up my life, and you make entrepreneurship feel like the best decision I’ve ever made.

To the KLEM Team of Steph, Sara, Krista, and Kaitlynn, thank you for trusting me and believing in yourselves. I am so thankful for your wisdom, ideas, and for growing with me and changing our clients’ lives. You are all such  badass rockstars.

To my coach, Kaela, thank you for believing in me and encouraging me to be the best possible version of myself and dream the big dreams I have. WWKD.

To my clients and KLEM family, none of this would be possible without you! Thank you SO much for your trust, your love, for sharing your stories with me, and for being open and authentic. Your relationships are so important to me, and I am here to support you always.

My friends, your companionship means so much to me. I am so thankful that you share your laughter with me and open your hearts to me. It’s such a treasure to find people you really connect with, and I’m grateful that we’ve found kindred spirits in one another.

And to every other person who’s opened their heart or their mind to me, shared effortlessly, loved fully, and laughed with me. You bring a special light to this world, and that light deserves to be seen. Thank you for sharing your light with me.

I think it’s so important to look back on the year and really recognize our accomplishments, so here’s 2018 in a nutshell:

January

Created and executed a winter wedding styled shoot at Gather on Broadway with some amazing Wisconsin wedding vendors

February

Photographed Brandi and Josh’s Valentine’s Day wedding at The American Club in Kohler, attended the Chris Young concert at the Resch (SUCH an amazing show, what a performer!), and learned how to make pasta at a 416 Cuisine class with my business bestie, Kasey

March

Celebrated One Year of dating Andy, planned and executed a boudoir styled shoot in partnership with Boudoir shop in DePere

April

Survived Winter Storm Evelynn! That was the craziest blizzard I’ve ever seen, leaving 24” of snow behind (making is the second-largest winter storm in WI history)!

May

Launched the KLEM Studios Associate Photographer Program, photographed my childhood friend Sammie and Kyle’s wedding at Tundra Lodge, photographed Abbi and TJ’s wedding at Silver Creek Park in Manitowoc, created and hosted the first Suds and Snapshots event at Brickhouse Craft Burgers and Brews (keep your eyes open for another event like this in 2019!)

June

Photographed Hannah and Kevin’s Appleton wedding, photographed Andrea and Neil’s wedding at The Marq, celebrated my grandma’s 90th birthday with our whole family in the UP, photographed Stacey and Cindy’s wedding at Sepia Chapel

July

Spent most of the month traveling to see family, celebrate friends, and  started our National Park road trip through Glacier National Park, Banff, Jasper, the Icefields Parkway, and Grand Teton National Park

August

We got ENGAGED on our road trip! We completed the kitchen remodel at my house, I photographed  Jen and John’s Northwoods wedding, and we celebrated Andy’s best friend getting married to the love of his life

September

Photographed Amanda and Jake’s wedding at the Green Bay Botanical Gardens, photographed Valerie and Dylan’s wedding at The Barnsite in Kewaunee, photographed Mairee and Ryan’s wedding at the Riverside Ballroom, photographed an intimate fall Door County elopement, and put my house on the market

October

Photographed Charlotte and Jeremy’s wedding at the Green Bay Botanical Gardens, photographed Annalisha and Rob’s Appleton wedding, photographed Melissa and Kirk’s fall castle wedding in Michigan, and celebrated one year as a completely full-time entrepreneur

November

Took a road trip to Colorado and Utah with my dad (and my best friend and her boyfriend, who flew out to adventure with us!), photographed Brandon and Callie’s Milwaukee wedding

December

Set myself up for 2019 success at my coach’s mastermind retreat in Wisconsin Dells, spent lots of quality time connecting with newly engaged couples, resting, and spending time with family and friends

I can already tell that 2019 has some unbelievable things in store for us. I can’t wait for the next part of this crazy journey. Cheers to all of you and the year ahead!

Much love and appreciation,

Kate
