Faith + Josh's Romantic Winter Engagement Session in Vail, Colorado

Colorado is one of my absolute favorite states to visit. The mountains truly have my heart, and my soul is rejuvenated every time I visit. To be able to photograph engagement sessions, weddings, and elopements in the mountains is one of the great joys of my career. I was introduced to Faith and Josh through Kaitlin Shea Weddings after we had partnered together on a project in Boulder, Colorado. Faith and Josh had recently gotten engaged and were looking for engagement photos that would capture their goofy, easygoing personalities while they adventured together in the mountains.

Faith and Josh met when they were both going to college in Fort Collins, Colorado. They love the outdoors and spend a lot of their time together mountain biking, hiking, and working out. They have mini Aussie pup, Bailey, who is the love of their lives and of COURSE was going to be included in their engagement session.

I had a trip to Vail, Colorado already on the books, and the three of us were able to find a time that aligned with all of our schedules so we could work together for their mountain engagement session. Vail is one of my absolute favorite spots in Colorado (I’ve been there many times since childhood), but I still took some time to scope out some of the locations that were available to us. Research is one of the most important parts of planning an engagement session, whether that session is taking place close-to-home or in a destination locale. Luckily, I was able to enroll a friend of mine who lives in the Vail area in suggesting some amazing engagement session locations that I hadn’t thought of.

We started the engagement session in Vail Village, which has a very romantic, European feel to it. Faith and Josh chose a casual sweater-and-flannel outfit combo, which was absolutely perfect for this location. These two are so laid back and natural, it was such a breeze working with them. The authenticity of their relationship simply shines through in their photos. From the moment we met, their warmth and friendliness was overflowing. They giggled and snuggled throughout their session and were definitely open to bring some romance into their session.

After frolicking in the village a bit, we made our way to the two snowy locations I had scoped out just outside of Vail that had views of the mountains as well. They're pup, Bailey, was so excited to be included in their engagement session. She absolutely loves the snow and was tearing around like a little tornado through the powdery mounds.

At the end of their session, Faith and Josh celebrated with some good food before headed back down the mountains to their home just outside Denver. Thank you, Faith and Josh, for trusting Kaitlin’s recommendation and choosing to work with me for your wintery engagement session in the mountains. This was truly a dream, and it was even more magical getting to know the two of you and your sweet pup. Cheers to you and your wedding journey ahead!

Much love and appreciation,
