Abbie + Mitch's Classic Summer Wedding at The Woods Golf Course in Green Bay

I think it would be the understatement of the century to say that COVID-19 really threw the world for a loop, especially when it came to the wedding industry. So many of our couples had to rearrange their wedding plans, including me, and I know how difficult that was for some of our sweet couples. It also brought us a number of spontaneous, last-minute weddings due to unforeseen circumstances. Some photographers were opting out of weddings or unable to fulfill their duties as they wanted. We were so honored to have been able to work with Abby and Mitch, one of our last-minute wedding couples.

Abby called me in a mild panic about a month before her August wedding because her photographer was no longer able to work with her. She had gotten my name from an old mutual friend, and was reaching out to see if there was any way that I was available to work with them. The Universe smiled upon us, and we were able to move forward with booking and planning her wedding. Abby and Mitch were such incredible and trusted us completely because, the day after our first conversation, I was leaving for 12 days for my own elopement in Wyoming! I told them I was going to be pretty radio silent, but would send them some information ahead of time, and that I was so super excited to work with them upon my return.

Abby and Mitch’s wedding ceremony took place at Devotions Chapel just outside of Green Bay. There was an excitement in the air as the girls got ready in the bridal suite. These two had the best hype crew around them with their bridesmaids and groomsmen ready to take care of anything that this couple would need. Abby was a vision in her elegant and simple wedding gown from Tie the Knot Bridal. The detail of the buttons down the back and the train were exquisite. After a sweet and lovely ceremony at Devotions Chapel, the wedding party packed up and headed to Green Aisle Park for some fun photos. Abby and Mitch had wanted a nice nature backdrop for their portraits in addition to a stop at Lambeau Field, which was a must-do for their wedding vision. Their wedding party looked extremely dapper spread out on the stairs of in front of the stadium. Abby and Mitch laughed and stole kisses when they had a few quiet moments alone.

Back at their reception spot, The Woods Golf Club, the party was just getting started. Abby and Mitch were able to mingle with their guests who turned out in fanfare fashion to celebrate these two lovebirds. After dinner, Abby and Mitch snuck away from the festivities and onto the golf course for some sunset photos. The team at The Woods was more than happy to provide us with a golf cart and driver to bring us around the greens and find some amazing photo spots. Back inside, they shared a sweet first dance and got ready to party the night away with music and entertainment provided by Extreme Entertainment. There was a small sense of normalcy within those four walls, a nice respite from the pandemic world we had been living in.

Abby and Mitch’s laughter is incredibly infectious. It's clear that they'll spend the next few decades making each other giggle and smile, no matter what life brings them. We were so honored to be a part of this incredible wedding day.

Much love and appreciation,

Kate
