Vendor Love: Green Bay Officiant Tim Sorbo

Friends, today I’d like you to meet Tim Sorbo. He’s a wedding officiant serving Northeast Wisconsin and beyond, working with couples who was a customized wedding ceremony–this man doesn’t do a cookie cutter service, people! He’s also able to serve clients by presiding over premarital counseling, general counseling, and funeral services as well. I see a lot of brides posting in local groups searching for the right officiant for their wedding, so I wanted to bring Tim’s experience to your attention. I asked Tim to share more about his offerings, and here’s what he had to say:

What areas do you consider yourself most successful in helping your wedding clients?

My personal touch. I like to meet with couples so that we are familiar with one another. It makes the wedding day that much better.

If you could give any advice to wedding planning couples, what would it be?

Do anything that you would like to do. It is your wedding. Sure, listen to moms, aunts etc. but in the end, you are the one getting married.

What makes your service unique?

Me. And the personal attention to each ceremony.

How many years have you been providing services to wedding clients?

My first wedding was in 2001!

How many wedding clients do you take on each year? Do you take on other clients as well?

Generally 30-40 per year.

How many wedding guests can you accommodate (if applicable)?

The more the merrier! I love the energy of a large crowd but an intimate setting can be awesome as well.

What type of wedding client will be happiest with the services you provide?

Someone who wants a customized wedding ceremony. Simple but with substance. I don't do cookie-cutter weddings.

What are some of the policies/rules of your services that you think researching couples should know right away?

I am an open door. Couples just need to ask me questions if they are concerned about something.

What are some of your favorite wedding details to work with? What are some of your favorite, unique items/ideas you've seen couples bring into their wedding day/wedding planning?

I generally will provide some samples for couples. It is always cool when the couple create their own style or flare for the ceremony. I tell couples to think outside the box. Truthfully, there is no wrong way to do a wedding. Make it your own!

What is the price range of your services?

Typically, $450 is my fee. However, given certain circumstances, that can be flexible. I also have a Courthouse Alternative which is only $150 (in Brown County).

How far in advance do you recommend couples book your services? Are you available on short notice?

Six to nine months is best for me. I can be available short notice, if the couple is flexible.

What do you think is most important for wedding planning couples to consider when they are researching vendors in your field of services?

God and Faith are very important to me so I think that can really make/break a ceremony. The couple needs to determine where they stand on these things.

What do you think is potentially the most stressful part of wedding planning? Do you have any tips on how to avoid this or get through this easily?

Let the professional people you have hired, me included, do their job. Look for fun things while planning the ceremony as well.

When you're not working, what are some of your favorite hobbies or past-times?

Board games and books with a little golf in there as well.

Is there any other information you would like researching wedding couples to know?

It is your day. Make it your own.
