Klair + Troy's Summer Wedding in Green Bay, Wisconsin

Although the day started out with rain and thunderstorms, Klair and Troy filled the morning with pre-wedding laughter and excitement. KLEM Studios associate photographer, Sara, was so excited to photograph their wedding, having done their beautiful in-home engagement session last summer. We knew their special day would be full of goofiness and fun (and hopefully no fire alarms!).

The bridesmaids and groomsmen prepped in rooms at the Green Bay Tundra Lodge. Her Beauty Bar did Klair’s hair and make-up in a natural style, perfect for the simple and vintage style of the day. Klair looked stunning in her sequin gown and Kate Spade sequin bridal shoes. Her wedding dress shimmered, as it caught the slightest bit of light—exceptional for their indoor candle-lit ceremony! The thin straps and low back flattered Klair beautifully, and everyone in the bridal party gazed in awe at how gorgeous Klair looked. Her grandma made a surprise appearance before the ceremony, handing Klair a handkerchief as “something old” to wear.

The rain subsided into a light sprinkle by the time guests gathered at the Tundra Lodge for the candle-lit wedding ceremony. Greenery and flickering candles lined the mantle of the ceremony space, providing simple but beautiful touches to the venue. When Troy saw Klair for the first time in her dress, he couldn’t stop smiling! She held an epic cascading bouquet from Radiant Floral Arrangements, the flowers complementing her elegance and excitement. Klair’s brother played acoustic guitar as everyone made their entrance, giving the entire ceremony a family-oriented and relaxed feel.

Klair and Troy met in the summer of 2014 working in a plastic factory together. Taking a chance, Troy knew he had to ask Klair out. During their first outing, it was unclear if it was an actual date or not, but Troy planned a hangout with just the two of them at Noodles and Company. They enjoyed food and asked each other questions to get to know one other better before heading to the movies. Troy was so sweet the entire evening, even giving Klair his sweatshirt after entering the chilly theater! He also picked the movie: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Klair originally wanted to watch Let’s Be Cops, but was so flattered by Troy’s efforts to make sure she had a good time, it didn’t matter what movie they watched. The date was such a success they officially planned their second date for the next day. Klair and Troy officially became boyfriend and girlfriend two days before Klair moved away to start college!

Supporting each other long-distance and through Klair’s studies at pharmacy school at UW Madison, Troy and Klair are Yin and Yang. They balance each other out and create a wonderfully stable relationship. Klair absolutely loves Troy’s sense of humor and their mutual love for animals. Troy is amazed by Klair’s drive and her passion for helping people in need. They enjoy each other’s company, fancy meals out, and pushing each other to live their best life possible.

To kick off 2019, they decided to celebrate in New York City. The ball dropped in Times Square as they shared a glorious kiss in their hotel room away from the commotion and crowds in the streets. Caught up in the moment, Klair was surprised as Troy leapt to the bed and pulled a small box from between the mattresses. Before Klair knew it, Troy got down on one knee in front of her. She was so shocked it took her five minutes to remember to say yes after Troy asked her to marry him. It was the perfect combination of intimacy and goofy-spontaneity. Once they returned from New York, ring on Klair’s hand, she jumped enthusiastically into wedding preparations—she loves to plan as much as we do!

Nine days before their magical wedding, Klair and Troy celebrated their six-year dating anniversary, reminiscing about their journey and their anticipated wedding day. Walking triumphantly back down the aisle together, officially married, Klair and Troy were overwhelmingly happy and grateful. Glowing with joy for Klair and Troy, everyone gathered for family photos before heading to the Green Bay Botanical Gardens for wedding party pictures.

The sky was a pleasant blue as the supportive and funny bridal party skipped around the gardens to take photos. This session was so much fun, truly capturing their easy-going and silly friends, as well as the romance between Klair and Troy. Taking advantage of the soft light of the day, we made sure to capture the glimmer in Klair’s dress and the spark between her and Troy—truly a dreamy photo session!

Klair and Troy smiled easily and frequently, making each other laugh the whole time. Simple centerpieces of lanterns and candles in vases created an intimate ambiance for the dance. Guests chatted and enjoyed desserts from Simple Simon Bakery. The groomsmen were absolutely silly and had so much fun on the dance floor. Klair and Troy love music. In fact, Klair handcrafted a vinyl record for Troy with all of the songs from their wedding and pictures from their engagement on the front and back.

Family and friends partied all night long in celebration. Klair and Troy are incredibly sweet and funny people. The two of them spread laughs all around the reception and their wedding day was a complete celebration of family—and of course their union! KLEM Studios is honored to be apart of your special day and capture all of the emotion of this milestone. Klair and Troy, we wish you many more date nights to the animal shelter and bowling alley, jackpots at the arcade, and of course, love.

Much love and appreciation,
