Tesia + Brandon's Summer Engagement Session at Fonferek Glen and Wequiock Falls

Tesia and Brandon couldn’t wait for their summer engagement session and to finally have beautiful, professional photos to document their relationship. They were thrilled to jump headfirst into an adventurous session! We brainstormed outdoor locations around Green Bay before scampering into Fonferek Glen for a giggly afternoon. Tesia and Brandon knew natural settings were important to their vision and relationship. Having spent so much of their time together in Madison, they were eager to explore new trails and secluded gems in the Green Bay area.

Associate photographer, Krista, couldn’t wait to show these lovebirds two waterfalls that wouldn’t disappoint! Tesia and Brandon came prepared with different outfits, smiling faces, and their Lhasa Apso furry pup, Alonzo (an adorable name for an adorable pup!), who couldn’t be happier spending the day outside with his favorite people. A friend and helper looked after Alonzo while we did portraits with just Tesia and Brandon—always a good idea to have an extra assistant!

It was perfect July weather for Tesia to wear a few of her favorite bold, summer dresses, the colors contrasting stunningly with the limestone cliffs of Fonferek Glen and Wequiock Falls. She wore her hair down; her beautiful waves naturally accentuated by makeup artist and stylist, Claudia, who highlighted Tesia’s natural and gorgeous look, all set for a session in the summer sun. Although splashing in the water wasn’t necessarily what Brandon had signed up for, he warmed up to being silly, giving Tesia piggyback rides, and climbing rocks for the perfect photo. Splashing and wadding in the water near the Glen’s 30-foot waterfall was the perfect reprieve from the summer heat.

While Alonzo pranced through the prairie as we took more pictures, popped champagne, Tesia and Brandon toasting out of glasses that read, “Drinking because COVID – 19 postponed my wedding.” Although 2020 was not what they had in mind for their wedding journey, but Brandon’s long hugs always reassured Tesia that everything would work out. It was obvious during the entire engagement session how much Brandon cares about Tesia, joking around with her and laughing just as hard as she was! They can be 100% themselves around one another. Tesia could splash water at Brandon, and talk about eating shredded cheese straight from the bag, and Brandon was cool as a cucumber—and totally in love.

Enthusiastically hiking through Wequiock natural conservancy, Krista helped guide the two through poses, asking silly prompts and traveling down memory lane. For their first date, Brandon drove two and a half hours to visit Tesia in Madison, eating pizza and talking until two in the morning! They had so much fun they met up the next day for a comical paddle board experience on the lake.

Tesia and Brandon surprised themselves by hugging, holding hands, kissing, and being more intimate than they expected during their session. Realizing how easy it is to be themselves in front of the camera, they acted silly and natural walking hand in hand, reminiscing and laughing. Tesia could laugh and jump around for hours outside with Brandon, just as she did when Brandon proposed on their hike in Colorado.

The day couldn’t have been more adventurous and successful. Tesia and Brandon’s enthusiasm shines through when they’re together, cracking jokes, and with their dog Alonzo. We are honored and grateful to document the excitement and love of your wedding journey and know you two have an adventurous future with Alonzo!

Much love and appreciation,

Kate (and Krista!)
