Christina + Kyle's Summer Wedding in Manitowoc

Christina and Kyle showed how fun and resilient they are as a couple and individuals when it relentlessly misted during their entire engagement session with KLEM Studios associate photographer Krista at Parallel 44 Winery in Door County. So when COVID-19 turned their wedding plans upside-down, Christina and Kyle reacted in the most kind and sweet manner possible.

This pandemic changed everything for Christina and Kyle’s wedding. Their original venue was at the beautiful Heritage Hill and the Tundra Lodge, but they rolled with the changes and booked the Silver Valley Bar and Restaurant in Manitowoc, WI instead. Although under unfortunate circumstances, the venue was perfect for their altered wedding events, and the venue owner was a great host who really cared for Christina and Kyle. Moving their ceremony and reception to be entirely in Manitowoc also meant less travel and a stress-free location closer to home.

To throw more their way, it was supposed to thunderstorm on their whole wedding day. These two have gone through so many challenges, shifting everything around so they could say I do. Now Christina and Kyle’s outdoor ceremony was most likely going to experience grey skies and lots of rain. Liz from Oak and Ember to the rescue! Their wedding planner, Liz, was absolutely phenomenal! We worked together to find an hour time slot for Christina and Kyle to go outside for their ceremony without getting drenched. So appreciative to celebrate their wedding ceremony outside, Christina and Kyle calmly waited as we all agreed to push the ceremony back thirty minutes to avoid the rain.

Their wedding ceremony was gorgeous—and we managed to fit in their ceremony and some outside photos before the rain came back! That little window of dry weather allowed us to see Christina and Kyle make their vows in front of loving family and close friends. Kyle’s reaction to Christina walking down the aisle was so genuine and sweet. Everyone standing up in the wedding party were courteous, kind, and calm throughout all the changes.

Couples pictures with Christina and Kyle were very sweet; they are more than just a married couple, they are best friends. Christina in her amazing Amelishan Bridal gown was a vision! Kyle interacted with love and affection towards Christina, kissing her forehead and going back and forth saying, “I love you more.” Their stunning florals from Nature’s Best brought the summer vibes even though the sun wasn’t shining.

Guests enjoyed cupcakes from Cakes by Hannah during the reception, while enjoying the festivities. Christina and Kyle embraced every curveball, all the while celebrating one another. They knew no matter when or who was able to attend their wedding, they would finally be married—nothing was going to stop their love.

We wish Christina and Kyle a bright future filled with love and friendship. You two are so incredibly kind and your love is tangible. Throughout all the transitions, changes, and challenges your positivity and amazing vendor team were able to make your day beautiful and memorable.

Much love and appreciation,

Kate (and Krista!)
