Amanda and Jake’s Door County Engagement Session
When Amanda and Jake were dreaming up their perfect engagement session, they shared how special it would be if they could celebrate their love story at the same place Jake proposed: Fragrant Isle Lavender Farm on Washington Island. We picked a date when the lavender would be at its peak and took the ferry across Death’s Door Strait to the island. Surrounded by a sea of purple flowers at the lavender farm, Amanda and Jake walked hand-in-hand, identifying different types of honey bees and talking about the bees they raise at their home.
We headed south to Cave Point County Park where the cliffs and trees were almost as big as the love these two have for one another. The waves of Lake Michigan lapped at the shore while we wandered through the trees, Amanda and Jake stealing kisses as we walked. We ended their adventure session with delicious mojitos and lobster quesadillas at Island Fever Rum Bar and Grill (a MUST stop if you’re in Jacksonport!).
Amanda and Jake first met when Jake was admitted to the emergency room Amanda was working in. Amanda just couldn’t seem to get that cute guy off of her mind, so she reached out to him a few days later. Jake asked her out to lunch a couple weeks later, and they’ve been together ever since! Their favorite nights are spent going out for a Friday fish fry while sipping old fashioneds or gin and tonics, or watching the sun set at their home nestled above the Bay.
Their fall wedding this weekend is going to be absolutely stunning and they can’t wait to celebrate with their son Easton, and the rest of their families and friends. These two are so deeply in love, I know their wedding day is going to be one for the record books. Cheers to Amanda and Jake, and their upcoming wedding!
